Summer 2019: P110F12/T110F12 - Experimental Engineering with 3D Printing
This course will introduce students to basic electronics, programming, and engineering design. Not only will they learn the fundamentals of code, they will also learn about and experiment with components such as LEDs, Light Sensors, Infrared Transmitters/Receivers, and Accelerometers. Then, they will implement their knowledge of electronics and code to engineer and design their own product prototype in a capstone project!
They will learn Computer Aided Design software to design and 3D print their own product prototype. They will learn about the engineering design process, engineering tolerances, 3D printing plastics, and 3D slicing software. The class will culminate with a product design presentation, where students will present their product prototype to their peers as young entrepreneurs. No prior experience is needed.
