SELF-PACED: N210A99 - Introductory Physics Olympiad
For students who missed our Summer session, this innovative self-paced course will allow students to catch up on foundational concepts. This asynchronous class will use our in-house created educational platform, Ardent SOLVE, where students can ask for learning assistance and receive a response within 24 hours. The course focuses on classical mechanics and simple electrical circuits using an algebraic approach. It assumes no prior knowledge of physics and emphasizes on building qualitative and quantitative reasoning in physical thinking. Students will learn critical skills in scientific inquiry, investigation, modeling, diagramming, unit analysis, laboratory techniques, and data analysis. This course lays the foundation for students preparing for the USAPhO (Fnet=ma), and students who complete all four sessions (10 classes per session) of the course will be prepared to take the AP Physics 1 exam in May.
Prerequisite: Completion of N200A (Honors Physics - Mechanics) and Algebra 1 Honors/Enhanced Math 1 or equivalent
Recommended: Algebra 2/Advanced Algebra and N210B (Physics Olympiad with AP Physics 1) concurrent
